I love you.
Three easy words for me to say to the special people in my life, but saying them to myself…IN A MIRROR…once felt like nails on a chalkboard.
I deeply hated my body growing up and didn’t really know who I was.
I grew up as a competitive gymnast and that was my whole identity. When I had to leave the sport from full body inflammation I was lost.
I felt like my body had failed me and was broken. For years negative demeaning talk towards my body was the norm.
And I was so used to people telling me how to act and show up for approval – who was I without that?
To think back to where I started and where I am today feels like a different lifetime.
Now when I have a flare up, I talk so tenderly to her. I ask her questions. Get curious about what’s moving through and releasing. I cheer her on and tell her how grateful I am for all she does for me.
When I look in the mirror I can hold my own gaze. Gently acknowledging the emotion that lie just beyond in my eyes.
And I can actually find things I like and appreciate about myself rather than picking apart every inch of myself.
But I didn’t get here overnight. I’ve worked with lots of physicians, coaches, got my bachelor’s in Health Coaching to help myself and others, read books, attended workshops, and more.
While all of it played a part in my transformation today there was one practice that was with me 24/7.
VIBE & Embodiment©. An intuitive movement practice to music that engages the power of visualization to help you rewire your thoughts.
I love my wellness team, but they can’t be with my every second of the day.
This practice helps you learn how to be in this body and move through all the thoughts and emotions racing around in a healthy productive way.
Plus, when we move intuitively we are changing our relationship with stepping out of the comfort zone, building confidence, and new neural pathways along the way.
Not only is it a FUN practice, but also:
- reduces daily stress
- improves brain health and reduces cognitive decline
- enhances balance, coordination, and stability
- releases stored emotions you don’t know how to talk through
No dance or movement experience is required to join! If you have chronic pain or physical limitations I can’t wait to share this practice with you!!!
A few years back I couldn’t even walk my dog to the corner without breaking down in tears from the pain and frustration. VIBE helped me immensely to process the emotions and continue to nourish my body as I rebuilt strength.
